Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
Joanna Chim is a graduate of the 2008 McMaster University Physiotherapy program. Since graduating, she has been avidly trying to improve her knowledge and skills. In 2013, Joanna attended the University of Western Ontario MClSc program and received her Advanced Certificate of Manual and Manipulative therapy (FCAMPT). She has also completed and is certified in Acupuncture (CAFCI) through Acupuncture Canada. As a result of all of her training, Joanna believes that providing an individualized treatment is imperative to effectively treat patients. She has also completed her level 3 Pelvic Health Physiotherapy certification, as well as her Level 2 visceral manipulation with the Barral Institute.
Joanna has experience working with athletes from all different levels of competition – from the occasional weekend warrior to the elite level athlete. She is particularly interested in working with patients with pelvic/SIJ dysfunction and its associated lower and upper extremity issues. She is a firm believer that in order to truly minimize the recurrence of symptoms, the body should be assessed and treated as a whole in order to identify the true source of the problem.
Joanna has always been a very active individual. Growing up, she was a competitive gymnast, and currently her summers are very busy with her women’s and co-ed SPN slo-pitch teams and various ultimate frisbee teams
